What is NC3s experience managing college recruiting logistics for a decentralized organization?
One of NC3s national programs is broken into 8 regional units that are determined by geography (i.e. Southeast, Mid-Atlantic). Each region is comprised by up to 15 business units. The regional manager is responsible for hiring decisions and providing both physical and monetary resources to support their college recruiting efforts. NC3 provided services to each of these regional units; customizing our service offering to meet individual business unit needs within the overall framework of the corporate driven initiative. For each region, NC3 was responsible for communicating campus scheduling and logistical information with 3 campus captains and a Staffing and Training Manager that oversees the regions college recruiting efforts.

Describe how NC3 communicates with its clients.
Often. Essential to any successful partnership is open, honest, and frequent dialogue. Particularly in college recruiting processes where there is so much detail to cover, constant communication is a must. Our communication process is usually executed on 2 levels.
One level is project management. In this process the NC3 project manager will discuss, at least once a week, the progress of the entire program with our clients project manager. Top level issues concerning strategy, line buy-in; recruiter enthusiasm/morale, and senior level sponsorship are the usual themes. For many of our clients we provide a weekly or bi-weekly scorecard/status report that numerically documents progress.
The 2nd level of communication is project execution. Typically this level involves NC3 project administrators and the line managers/personnel that are participating in campus activities. Communication is daily and involves using e-mail and the telephone as methods of communication.

How should I measure the success of our corporate college recruiting efforts?
The most basic measure of any college recruiting program is whether or not hiring targets are met. It also can be the most misleading. Numerical achievement is the easiest thing to measure, so it often serves as the method of evaluation. While hitting the numbers is important, it is only a piece of the overall puzzle. Several other soft measurements can be utilized to gauge the real success of a program. These include:
- Employer of choice status - Did your branding, advertising, and campus activities increase your recognition as employer of choice in your industry among students, faculty/Career Services, and competition.
- Meet yield objectives - Did your interview/referral, referral/offer, offer/hire ratios substantiate the strategy, effort, and resources allocated to your recruiting program.
- Create a pipeline - Will your strategy, school selection, and execution develop a core group of schools that will help satisfy your college recruiting needs in the future.
